I was excited to hear the good news from a fellow blogger and mommy Kimberly at LavenderGloss  that we could receive a welcome letter from the White House and President once our little one is born.  How exciting!!

So being the researcher that I am, I had to make a few phone calls to Washington and of course check the internet.  And true enough, Presidents have been doing this for years.   But not only can your receive a letter for your baby you can also receive a greeting for other milestones like:  Just married, retirement, celebrating a golden anniversary or a Bar Mitzvah to name a few.

Requests can also be mailed, at least six weeks in advance of the event or after the baby is born to:

White House Greetings Office
Room 39
Washington, DC 20500 1600

Or requests can also be faxed to 202-456-2461 or 202-395-1232

  1. I knew about wedding messages but hadn’t heard about baby greetings! Thanks for sharing this!

  2. I was quite surprised I had never heard about this.. but I guess when you reach those milestones in your life (ie. having a baby) you find out all sorts of things! 🙂
