Honestly, until you have had someone who has served in the military or who has sacrificed their life for this country, it’s hard to sometimes truely appreciate the importance of this holiday.
For me, In the moment that the flag was raised and guns fired at my Grandfather’s funeral at the Georgia National cemetery on October 18, 2012 my debth of appreciation for men and women in service completely changed.
My grandfather was a proud USAF Veteran and served during the Korean War. The men and women of the Patriot Guard Riders honored him in an extraordinary way that I shall never forget.
Thank you to everyone who has ever served this country. We owe a great debt of gratitude to you and your sacrifice.
