1.  Use of repellents

As a parent, always use safe mosquito repellents around your home. This keeps the mosquitoes away from your home and therefore ensures and extra added protection for your kids safety.

2.  Advising your kids to play indoors

Mosquitoes that spread the Zika virus mainly bite during day time. As a result, it is important for you as a parent to ensure that kids are not allowed to play outside during day time, so as to avoid bites from these mosquitoes.It is also important to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities.

3. Smart travel

Before you travel,make sure that you check the CDCs list of affected countries. If you must travel to the affected areas,make sure that your kids stay in air-conditioned rooms and sleep under mosquito nets.

4.  Prepare your home
